Dr Ty Drake is a psychiatrist committed to improving the wellbeing of adolescents, and adults living with neurodevelopmental conditions and complex mental health challenges. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and has completed advanced training with a Certificate in Consultation‑Liaison Psychiatry, equipping him with expertise at the intersection of physical and mental health.

Broad clinical experience across diverse settings

Dr Drake completed his undergraduate medical degree before earning a Master of Medicine from the University of Sydney. He undertook specialist psychiatry training across several major tertiary hospitals, gaining extensive experience in:

  • Adult mental health
  • Adolescent psychiatry
  • Consultation‑liaison psychiatry
  • Acute, community, rural, and remote settings

This breadth of experience allows him to provide comprehensive, developmentally informed care for patients aged 16 years and over.

Academic and research contributions

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Drake has held academic teaching roles at the University of New South Wales. He is also a published author of peer‑reviewed research papers, with a particular focus on traumatic brain injury and its psychiatric impacts.
